Artist's Comments

I took this of Ms Jess Hawk one year ago on my cross country trip (I drove from California to Virginia..yes drove coast to coast). I decided to revisit our shoot in hopes of getting inspired, and just for fun.

A year of experiences, I approached it with a new eye. I also thought it would be cool to experiment on colors and curves. So I went to town…here is my result!

99% of the teenage population thinks that raver kids and rivetheads are weird, but if you are part of the 1% that loves fucking to techno music, copy and paste this into your sig.

I really like the way you've processed this. The faded effect and blue tint create a retro feeling, quite soft and romantic, which contrasts beautifully with Jess's tough stance and punky clothes.

agree with ^RockstarVanity completely. the editing really gives excellent interest to the portrait, and i love how you didn't do too much to it in post work to make it look over-edited.

interesting.
like the angle and the overall view,
with the streets behind her.

thanks! I really wanted to go with tones that changed the mood, but didn't overpower the photo. Subtly, but just alittle extra to give it a point.
